With the exception of our music contest, which runs through February break, the 2012-13 edition of Collab will no longer be accepting submissions for this year’s publication. If any non-senior wished to submit any stories, poetry or artwork the for remainder of the school year, those pieces will be considered for our Volume 42, next year.
As we begin making our final decisions for the artwork and written pieces that will make it into this year’s magazine, we wish to thank the student body for the incredible number of submissions that we received this year. We had:
- Over 160 written submissions, including 43 entries into our Final Thoughts contest. For both the contest and overall, this is the most we have ever received in a single year
- Nearly 150 art submissions – this also set a record high for us
- An impressive range of styles and genres in both our art and written submissions
We do not anticipate greatly expanding the size of the magazine, which means it is getting harder and harder to get your work accepted – we generally publish around 25 pieces of artwork, and around 30-40 written pieces. We are very pleased that we have received such high-quality submissions, and we should have final decisions on the magazine finalized in the next few weeks. Thank you to all who submitted.
