2013 Poetry Contest Winners

Collab is excited to announce the winner of the 2013 Poetry Contest
In third place, winning a gift card to True North or Starbucks, was The Time is Gone by Michael Seleman. This will be Michael’s first piece published in Collab. Congratulations, Michael!
Our runner-up this year, winning a free copy of the 2014 Collab, was Jill Daniels, with Breaking Free. This is the second top-three finish for Jill in our annual poetry contest, and is the fourth straight year that our magazine will feature her poetry. Great Job!
And our winner this year, earning a $25 gift card to True North, was “To the Man I Met on the Bus Last Night” by Lena Keown. Lena’s poem, the first of her work to make it into Collab, will be posted on this web page and in the English hallway.
Honorable mentions go out to Dora Kadish, Tyler Lynch and Rachel Murgo, all of whom had poems that scored very well in our contest. We had over fifty submissions this year, which was an all-time high for us, and we read some truly excellent writing. Thank you to all who submitted!
